Amidst darkness
Shone the light;
Beyond the hopelessness
Came the hope.
What people may say
Will matter not,
For they mean nothing
To me!

Now, the hope, the light,
Is upon my life,
Who will share with me
My everything…
Not only joy, success
And happiness,
But also sorrows
To divide my grief,
For he is a aprt of me,
And I am a part of him!

He was born
Amidst confusion,
Yet, I regret not;

SPEAK GENTLY

Speak gently; it is better far
To rule by love than fear;
Speak genty; let not harsh words mar
The good we might do here.

Speak gently; love doth whisper low
The vows that true hearts bind;
And gently friendship accents flow
Affection’s voice is kind.

Speak gently to the little child,
It’s love be sure to gain;
Teach it in accent soft and mild;
It may not long remain.

Speak gently to the aged one,
Grieve not to the careworn heart,
The sands of life are nearly run:
Let such in peace depart.

Speak gently to the young, for they
Will have enough o bear;
Pass trough this life as they may
‘Tis full of anxious care.

For I look forward to
The coming years
On how my life will be
Spent with him…

To be his loving mother,
His kind sister.
And his bestfriend!

Stay, stay at home, my heart and rest;
Home-keeping hearts are happiest;
For those that wander they know not where
Are full of trouble and full of care;
To stay at home is best.

Weary and homesick and distressed,
They wander east, they wander west
And are baffled and beaten and blown about
By the winds of wilderness of doubt;
To stay at home is best

Then stay at home, my heart, and rest
The bird is safest in its nest;
O’er all that flutter their wings and fly
A hawk is hovering in the sky;
To stay at home is best.

DON’T QUIT

When things go wrong
As they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging
Seems all uphill,

When the funds are low,
And debts are high,
And you want to smile
But you have to sigh,

When care is pressing you
Down a bit—
Rest if you must,
But don’t you quit.

Life is queer
With its twist and turns
As everyone of us
Sometimes learns;

And many a persons turns about
When they might have won
Had they stuck it out.
Don’t give up—

Though the peace seems slow
You may succeed with another blow.
Speak gently, kindly, to the poor,
Let no harsh tones be heard:

They have enough they must endure,
Without an unkind word.

Speak gently to the erring; know
They may have toiled in vain;
Perchance unkindness made then so:
Oh, win them back again.

Speak gently: He who gave his life
To bend man’s stubborn will,
When elements were in fierce strife,
Said to them, “Peace, be still!”

Speak gently: It’s a little thing
Dropped in the heart’s deep well;
The good the joy, which it may bring
Eternity shall tell.

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace,

I love thee to the level of every day’s
Most quite need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turned from Praise.

I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old grief’s, and with my childhood’s faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints, – I love thee with the breath,

Smiles, tears, of all my life! – And if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.
